The one room building was erected in 1857.  J.B. McAfee served as the minister.  The building also served as a schoolhouse and public hall as well as a church for other denominations.  The church was moved from its original site in 1891 and is maintained by the Valley Falls Historical Society. Occasionally the Lutheran Church holds church services in the building.
