Lights click on, the band begins to play as high school football players run onto the field. Built as a WPA project in the 30's, the cement bleachers and concrete columned fence has long been home to the "Fighting Panthers." This historic stadium is located on U.S. Hwy 36 and Hwy 183, in the heart of the community . Legend has it that during the fall on Friday evenings, more than one football has ended up on the hood of a car passing through on the highway.

 

 Friday night football games inside the concrete fence, are a long standing tradition in our community.
