It’s a peaceful place to relax for awhile, enjoy watching the birds and squirrels, and admire the stonework of WPA crews who, in the late 1930s, built a large shelter house as well as the many feet of stone walls which wind around within the park . From Thanksgiving through New Years the park becomes a Christmas Wonderland when city crews donate their time to put up thousands of feet of lights, on the trees and wire frames made into holiday “shapes.” Being just off of U.S. 54, the park entices many a motorist to pull in and mosey through to admire their handiwork. This project grows as every year something new is added to the collection. The park is open year round... you'll find it south of U.S. 54 on the east edge of Meade. Stop and rest awhile.
