When the building was originally built, the clock tower was left unfinished because they ran out of money. It was completed in 1910 and the large 800 pound counterweights later fell through two stories of the tower. The clock was repaired and converted to electricity in 1948, but the tower is now closed to the public. The courthouse is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed major holidays.
