The land was donated, David Schurr, a Civil War vet and farmer. This post office was also a trading post and trade was conducted with local Indians as well as area residents. The hardy souls along Wolf Creek did not wait for Washington, DC to decide to place a post office but built one themselves. It was a dugout with limestone walls and the walls are still standing today. |
