His invention of the integrated circuit in 1958 was the genesis of nearly every electronic product used today.
There is a display about Jack Kilby at the Barton County Museum located just south of Great Bend on U.S. 281.
The new Courthouse exhibit is to be constructed.
And he was awarded the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physics for his invention. "The Gift" is his legacy to the future and to the world forever!
