Goodland is home to Crazy R's, a finalist for Kansas Sampler Foundations's "Eight Wonders of Cuisine." If you haven't eaten at Crazy R's, you haven't been to Goodland.

 

Enjoy battered deep fried bacon and other delicious foods on the menu. Try the homemade, hand-breaded pork tenderloin, but be warned. You may end up craving it. 

 

The cook with an outsize personality is the owner himself. You will always remember meeting Rod Cooper, restauranteur and antique collector extraordinaire.

 

Antique buffs will enjoy antiques, including much Goodland and Sherman County memorabilia, that hang from the ceiling and on the walls. The interior is mainly lit by beer signs. Watch walls and ceiling for new antiques and collectibles that appear.

 

Ask to see New York Yankees great Billy Martin's jersey from when he played for the semipro Goodland Tigers. Look for Denver Bronco great John Elway's autograph on a beer sign and for Nebraska Cornhusker national championship quarterback Brook Berringer's jersey. Berringer was a Goodland native.
