There has never been any dangerous criminals in this jail, in fact it's had very little "wear & tear". When it was in use, the Frankfort City Jail was more of a cooling off chamber for Saturday night drinkers, chicken thieves and bootleggers. In later years the small stone building was an overnight lodging for vagrants.

 

It has recently been renovated. The rocks have been cleaned up and a new roof was put on.

 

If you are ever in town on a Saturday night, check it out. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad place to spend the night.
