Meridian Way Wind Farm began
commercial operation in December 2008. Meridian Way consists of 67 Vestas
V90-3.0 MW turbines, the largest on-shore wind turbine currently being
installed in the United States. Each tower is 262 feet high or about 20
stories high. Each of the blades of the three blade rotor is just over
144 feet long. Meridian Way Wind Farm has an
installed capacity of 201 megawatts-enough to power more than 61,000 average
Kansas homes with clean energy during peak production.
